Can dark energy be dynamical?

چکیده

We highlight shortcomings of the dynamical dark energy (DDE) paradigm. For parametric models with an equation state, $w(z)={w}_{0}+{w}_{a}f(z)$, for a given function redshift $f(z)$, we show that errors in ${w}_{a}$ are sensitive to $f(z)$: if $f(z)$ increases quickly $z$, then smaller, and vice versa. As result, DDE suffer from degree arbitrariness, focusing too much on one model runs risk may be overlooked. In particular, ubiquitous Chevallier-Polarski-Linder is least DDE. also comment ``wiggles'' $w(z)$ uncovered nonparametric reconstructions. Concretely, isolate most relevant Fourier modes wiggles, them, fit them back original data confirm wiggles at $\ensuremath{\lesssim}2\ensuremath{\sigma}$. delve into assumptions going reconstruction argue assumed correlations, which clearly influence place strong constraints field theory

Roles of dark energy perturbations in dynamical dark energy models: can we ignore them?

We show the importance of properly including the perturbations of the dark energy component in the dynamical dark energy models based on a scalar field and modified gravity theories in order to meet with present and future observational precisions. Based on a simple scaling scalar field dark energy model, we show that observationally distinguishable substantial differences appear by ignoring th...

2 00 3 Can dark energy be decaying ?

We explore the fate of the universe given the possibility that the density associated with ‘dark energy’ may decay slowly with time. Decaying dark energy is modeled by a homogeneous scalar field which couples minimally to gravity and whose potential has at least one local quadratic maximum. Dark energy decays as the scalar field rolls down its potential, consequently the current acceleration ep...

Can Early Dark Energy be Detected in Non-Linear Structure?⋆

We present the first study of early dark energy cosmologies using N-body simulations to investigate the formation of non-linear structure. In contrast to expectations from semi-analytic approaches, we find that early dark energy does not imprint a unique signature on the statistics of non-linear structures. Investigating the non-linear power spectra and halo mass functions, we show that univers...

Examining the evidence for dynamical dark energy.

We apply a new nonparametric Bayesian method for reconstructing the evolution history of the equation of state w of dark energy, based on applying a correlated prior for w(z), to a collection of cosmological data. We combine the latest supernova (SNLS 3 year or Union 2.1), cosmic microwave background, redshift space distortion, and the baryonic acoustic oscillation measurements (including BOSS,...

The case for dynamical dark energy revisited

We investigate the behaviour of dark energy using the recently released supernova data of Riess et al. (2004) and a model independent parameterization for dark energy (DE). We find that, if no priors are imposed on Ω0m and h, DE which evolves with time provides a better fit to the SNe data than ΛCDM. This is also true if we include results from the WMAP CMB data. From a joint analysis of SNe+CM...
